There are four shifts for the Sarpy County Communications Center. We have 2 day shifts (work 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and 2 night shifts (work 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). The dispatchers rotate their days off, so they only work, on the average, about 15 days a month. The 12-hour shifts allow them to have every other weekend off to spend time with their families.
