District 1

Rusty Hike is the Sarpy County Commissioner from the 1st District. He was elected to office in January, 2009. His term expires December, 2012. Commissioner Hike serves as a liaison representative for the Metropolitan Area Planning Agency Board of Board of Directors. Rusty is a fourth generation, lifelong resident of Sarpy County. He has served on the Bellevue Planning Commission and the Bellevue Board of Adjustment. He is the managing broker of Century 21 Hansen Realty and has been in real estate sales since 1982. Rusty and his wife Joanna, along with their three children, reside on an acreage south of Bellevue.

Joni M. Albrecht is the Sarpy County Commissioner from the 2nd District. Joni was elected to office in January, 2007. Her term will expire December, 2010. Commissioner Albrecht is currently Chairman of the Board. Commissioner Albrecht serves as liaison representative on the Sarpy/Cass Department of Health and Wellness. Mrs. Albrecht has lived in Sarpy County for over 40 years. She was appointed to the Papillion City Council in 1998 and was elected in 2000 and then re-elected in 2004. She served through December, 2006 before becoming elected to the County Board. Joni resides in Papillion with her two daughters.

District 3

Tom Richards is the Sarpy County Commissioner from the 3rd District. He was elected to office in January, 2009. His term expires December, 2012. Commissioner Richards currently serves as liaison representative for the Merit Commission. Mr. Richards is a graduate of the University of Nebraska - Omaha and holds a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. He served as Bellevue City Councilman from 1990-1994. He has twice chaired the Board for the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. He and wife, Gina, have two sons, Ryan and Ben. Ryan is married to daughter-in-law Cassy.

Pat Thomas is the Sarpy County Commissioner from the 4th District. He took office in January, 2009. His term expires December, 2012. Commissioner Thomas currently serves as Board representative for the Criminal Justice Coordinating Committee and also on the Nebraska Innovation Zone Commission. Mr. Thomas holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Mr. Thomas previously served as Sarpy County's Sheriff for 32 years. He and his wife reside in Papillion.

Rich is a life-long resident of Sarpy County. He is engaged in farming and the owner of Platte Valley Implement. He has been a member of the Sarpy County Fair Board since 1979 and has served as President since 1989. He is also currently a director on the Gretna Rural Fire Board and member of the American Legion Post #143. He was elected in 1994 as a director of the Papio-Missouri Natural Resource District Board and served for 12 years. He and his wife Mary Ann reside on a farm in Gretna and have 4 married children and 9 grandchildren. Rich Jansen is the Sarpy County Commissioner from the 5th District. He was elected into office January, 2007 and his term expires December, 2010. Commissioner Jansen is a liaison representative for Human Services and Eastern Nebraska 6 Governing Board and a member of the Nebraska Innovation Zone Commission.
